If you’re under 18, we have a great competition for you to win the chance to work with The Comet and Rhythms of the World teams in July 2012.
Rhythms of the World and The Comet have teamed up to offer a young photographer and a young reporter an amazing opportunity to get their work in front of thousands of people in 2012. By entering our competition, two talented individuals will win a weekend pass to the Rhythms of the World festival (that means you can check out the action on every stage all day, on both days) as well as a work experience opportunity at The Comet.
This is your chance to experience a unique festival which represents all that’s best in the local and global community, featuring all that’s new in culture and creativity; while showcasing some outstanding musicians and artists from the local area and around the world.
Headlining artists at this year’s festival include Juju (winners of the Mojo magazine album of the year in 2011), Jassi Sidhu, The Damned, Young Knives and The Boxettes. Add a bit of Speech Debelle, Molotov Jukebox and Blair Dunlop and there really promises to be something for everyone to enjoy.
To enter, all you have to do is submit your three best photos, or a 200 word article on a topic of your choice, before 5pm on Thursday 31 May 2012. Send your entry to info@rotw.org.uk with ROTW/The Comet Competition in the subject line and your name, address, date of birth and contact phone number. The competition is open to all photographers and budding reporters under the age of 18 in Comet country. Entries will be judged by representatives from ROTW and The Comet and winners will be notified by 15 June 2012. The winning photographs and article will be published on www.rotw.org.uk and www.thecomet.net and, space permitting, in The Comet newspaper. Work experience placements will be offered to winners at a mutually convenient time.
Please ensure your photos are a minimum of 1024px x 1024px and your article is written in Word.
